The idea that spawned Microsoft germinate when Paul Allen Bill Gates showed to Popular Electronics magazine edition January 1, 1975 which shows the Altair 8800 of Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems (MITS). Allen and Gates saw the potential "business" to develop an implementation of the BASIC programming language for the Altair 8800 system. Allen later convinced Gates to drop out of Harvard University in order to create, in addition to Gates also not clear his studies at Harvard University. Gates decided ffor out, he had talked this decision over with his parents, who supported him after seeing how much Gates wanted to start a company.
First, they only conjecture to mnegukur interests of MITS. Gates contacted MITS and claim that he and his colleagues (Allen) had a BASIC programming language for the device, and after getting a call from Gates, MITS directly ask demonstrated. Because Gates initially speculated, in other words there is no system for the Altair 8800, Allen and Gates took the time to study for eight weeks before their demo to MITS. Allen created a simulator for the Altair, while Gates developed a translator (language program). When showed to MITS, although they only demonstrate a simulator, not the original, the translator is operating very smoothly. And finally MITS agreed to distribute and market it under the name Altair BASIC.
After a demo and MITS agreed to offer it, Allen and Gates founded the company, Allen proposed the idea of the name "Micro-Soft" (as stated in Fortune magazine article in 1995). They formally established the Microsoft dated 4 April 1975 and where Bill Gates as CEO. On 26 November 1976 the company began to grow and has also been registered under the name of the Secretary of State of Mexico.
